Video Generation function
This function helps chemistry educators create engaging instructional videos that combine narration, visuals, and background music. Teachers can use it to demonstrate laboratory procedures, illustrate chemical concepts, or introduce equipment and safety rules without needing advanced video-editing skills. It allows educators to visualize chemistry content dynamically, making lessons more interactive and accessible for students of different ages.

The video generation met all my key requirements, including narration, background music, and appropriate visuals. The rendering quality is acceptable, with smooth and cohesive animation transitions. The interface is transparent throughout the process, users can observe each step, view code and reference sources, and interactively choose among different options during production.
It gives you opptions to restore the preference, make it convinent for creating other projects. I selected the high-quality rendering mode, which increased the processing time but delivered better visual and audio results. However, there were some mistakes: the measurement markings on certain laboratory items were inaccurate, and a few captions did not display fully.
Slide Generation function
This function helps educators quickly generate organized and visually appealing presentation slides for chemistry lessons. Input a topic and Manus will produce structured slides with clear explanations, examples, and visuals. It is easily modified, especially useful for lesson preparation, allowing educators to focus more on teaching and discussion rather than slide formatting.

I asked Manus to generate a 5-page PowerPoint presentation. It hallucinated slightly, stating, “You mentioned both 5 PowerPoint slides and 8–12 pages in slides.” Everything within the interface is transparent , you can see each step of its reasoning. It remembers my previous preferences from other projects. The output met my requirements: the slides were accurate, colorful with examples. Manus also includes a "Smart Optimize" feature that allows users to modify the presentation's layout/ content/ visual effects with one click. However, when I asked it to change only the layout of page 5, it created a 6-page deck instead. When I followed up with the prompt, “Now adapt these slides for younger students (ages 8–12)…,” Manus did a good job simplifying the text, making it and adding kid-friendly visuals, though it continued working with the same 6-page version.
Image Generation function
This function helps educators transform hand-drawn or sketches into realistic, high-resolution images. For example, a teacher can upload a quick sketch of a molecule or laboratory setup, and Manus will convert it into a photorealistic illustration. This is valuable for visualizing experiments, equipment arrangements, or chemical structures without needing to input detailed descriptions. It also helps turn ideas that are difficult to articulate into clear visuals, making it useful when real photos are unavailable or hard to capture.
It has many styles to choose from. My first prompt: Create a poster titled ‘Green Chemistry for a Sustainable Future’ showing a lab surrounded by plants and renewable energy icons like wind turbines and solar panels.

It did a good job including all the elements I asked for and provided a follow-up adjustment input box. My follow-up prompt: “Add realistic teachers and students interacting naturally in the scene, the teacher guiding or explaining, and the students observing or participating.”

For users to modify: number of pictures generated and the Aspect ratio.
I drew a draft of an H₂O molecule, setting it to generate 2 pictures, but Manus provided 5 pictures along with justifications. However, 2 of the H₂O molecule images had incorrect structures: one contained three hydrogen atoms, and another had an inaccurate shape.
